Sciatica (Pinched Sciatic Nerve):: DRX9000 Spinal Decompression

Click PLAY to Learn How the DRX9000 Spinal Decompression can Help Sciatica.

The sciatic nerve is a large nerve that travels down the back of the leg to the bottom of the foot. It starts at the spine at the level of the low back and has many branches. Irritation of the sciatic nerve is commonly referred to as “sciatica”. The symptoms of sciatica include sharp pain, numbness, tingling or burning pain in the back of the legs. Weakness in the legs can also be seen.

Sciatic nerve irritation can take several forms. One of the more serious causes of sciatica is direct nerve compression or impingement from a disc bulge or herniated disc. Treatment to eliminate sciatica should include methods that painlessly remove this compression without drugs, injections or surgery – such as DRX9000 Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression.

The Discs of the Spine:: An Overview

The bones of the spine are separated by tough cartilage pads called intervertebral discs (inter = “between”; vertebral = “bones of the spine”). Healthy discs are thick and flexible (like a wet sponge) allowing a wide range of bending and twisting motions. An unhealthy disc is stiff and hard (like a dry sponge) and prone to injuries such as bulging or herniation. Over time gravity, spinal joint dysfunction and accumulated trauma cause the discs to compress, flatten and degenerate. This constant compression prevents much-needed oxygen and nutrients from entering the disc. Ongoing starvation causes the once-tough outer layers of the disc to soften allowing the disc to become injured or diseased. The discs of the neck (cervical spine) and low back (lumbar spine) are the most commonly injured.

Disk Rupture (C)

Disease of the spinal discs can take several forms. Disc damage can lead to a Disc Bulge, become a tear called a Disc Herniation or the inner jelly material of the disc can leak out in the case of a Disc Extrusion . The “jelly center” of the disc can also dry out which is called Degenerative Disc Disease. All disc injuries can eventually impinge on the nerves exiting the spine which can lead to numbness, tingling, burning or sharp pain down the arms or legs. Sharp pain originating from the back and “shooting” down the legs is often called Sciatica.

The most effective treatment available to reverse sciatica caused by a disc bulge or herniated disc is Non-Surgical Spinal Disc Decompression using the DRX9000.

Sciatica:: Non-Surgical Spinal Disc Decompression with the DRX9000

Non-Surgical DRX9000 Disc Decompression provides relief to sciatica sufferers by gently removing pressure on the sciatic nerve. The bones of the spine are gently separated using DRX9000 Spinal Decompression equipment. This separation slowly reduces the pressure within the disc (intradiscal pressure) until a vacuum is formed. This vacuum “sucks” the Disc Bulge or Herniated Disc back into the disc. A series of Spinal Disc Decompression treatments can significantly reduced the size of the disc protrusion leading to elimination of nerve compression. This “sucking” vacuum also pulls vital oxygen and nutrients into the injured and degenerated discs allowing the healing to begin.

Herniated Disc Protruding Lumbar Disc Herniation

The treatment motion is computer controlled to provide gentle and painless relief. The DRX9000 slowly cycles between brief moments of pulling and relaxing called oscillation. This reduces protective muscle spasm that contributed to the poor success rate of outdated “traction” techniques like SpineMED and DTS Traction.

Important Facts About DRX9000 Spinal Decompression

DRX9000 Spinal Decompression is NOT traction. Traction is a consistent pull using a fixed amount of weight. DRX9000 Spinal Decompression is computer-controlled to vary the force of pull to maximize Disc Decompression.

DRX9000 Spinal Decompression is extremely safe. There have been no reports of patient injury or significant side effects since receiving FDA Approval in 2001.

DRX9000 Spinal Decompression is very effective. Recent studies have demonstrated success rates as high as 88.9% for patients matching an ideal diagnostic profile.

The DRX9000 Spinal Decompression Unit measures the treatment force thousands of times per second! This allows the Unit to increase or decrease the treatment pull within seconds to adjust to the needs of the patient. This technological advance is found ONLY in the DRX9000 Spinal Decompression Unit. Vax-D, Accu-Spina, SpineMED and DTS Traction tables DO NOT possess this capability!
